The Marlston & Bucklebury Shoot

General Terms & Conditions

 

  • The facilities of The Marlston and Bucklebury Estates will be made available on the allotted day
    for a period of 8 hours. 

  • The day’s rental will be based on the anticipated bag multiplied by the agreed price per bird. 

  • A 50% deposit will be required to secure the agreed date and the day’s rental must be fully paid by 31st August prior to the season commencing.

  • The Shoot will accommodate a maximum of 9 guns unless otherwise agreed at least two weeks
    before the allotted date.

  • All guns must hold a valid Shotgun License and BASC (or equivalent) Insurance.

  • Sufficient birds will be shown for the anticipated bag for that day @ 3:1 shot ratio.

  • If the expected bag is exceeded, extra birds will be charged pro-rata. 

  • In the event of the shooting failing to commence due to inclement weather, we will be happy to arrange a mutually convenient alternative date later in the season, if available.

  • In the event of the day being cancelled or curtailed due to circumstance outside the Shoot’s control, such as inclement weather, Covid-19 or Avian Flu, there will be no refund. It is strongly recommended that the Client takes out the necessary insurance to guard against the risk of cancellation.

  • The facilities provided by The Marlston Shoot will include the following:

    • One brace of dressed & prepared birds per Gun per day

    • Beaters & pickers up

    • Coffee upon arrival, Elevenses and Lunch for 9 Guns & up to 3 Guests

    • Loaders / instructors if requested (paid by each gun)

  • ​Lunch and other refreshments for additional guests, if total numbers including Guns exceeds 12, will be charged at £25.00 per head.

  • Guns are required to provide their own suitable (4x4) transport for the duration of the day.

  • Neither the Shoot nor the Estates will accept any liability for damage to vehicles, property, or personal injury, arising from any accident.

  • The Shoot will nominate a person to run and direct each day and the organisation of the day will be solely at the discretion of the Shoot’s nominee.

  • A Safety briefing will be given at the beginning of the day. All instructions issued at this briefing must be strictly adhered to. This is for the safety of the guns and the Shoot’s team.

  • First Aid Kits are located at the Shoot Lodge and in the shoot vehicles. If First Aid is required, please alert the Shoot’s Nominee as soon as possible.

  • The Shoot’s Nominee will be entitled to require any gun to leave the shooting field if he is shooting in dangerous manner, of which the Shoot’s Nominee will be the sole judge. No refund will be payable in these circumstances.
